The very best business card in the world!
A few friends have asked me how I made the follow personal QR 9+52 http://bit.ly/transformwork.qr
So, this post shares how I do that and what QR code scanners I use on my BlackBerry and iPhone.
Right, scanners first:
I use ScanLife with the BB - a free app from the store. Works like a charm!
On my personal phone, an iPhone (BB is a work phone), I use ScanMee (also free in the iTunes store).
My friend Steven Lottering who uses a Nokia sent the following:
“I use UpCode on my Nokia and they say it’s compatible with blackberry - try it out here http://www.upcode.com/download or on your phone http://www.upcode.mobi/
These links give a few more options - it took me a wile to find one that works with my Nokia so you may have to try a few readers before you find the right one:
http://www.mobile-barcodes.com/qr-code-software/blackberry/
http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/search/qr%20code “. Thanks Steve!
OK, now onto making custom QR codes:
By the way, to MAKE a QR code simply create a bit.ly shortened link (e.g. In this case I shortened http://transformyourworklife.wordpress.com to http://bit.ly/transformwork), once you’ve created your shortened bit.ly link just add .qr to the end e.g., http://bit.ly/transformwork.qr and it automatically generates a permanent QR code that you can download, print, email and share!
Cool! Uber geek ;-)
What is this QR code for? Scan it and see! Please repost!
Can you guess what this QR code says!? Can anyone suggest a QR reader for the iPhone?
